Passo del Madriccio - Solda - Trentino Alto Adige

Solda – in the Bolzano district – is an alpine village near the border between Lombardia region and Trentino Alto Adige region. It is at an altitude of 1840 meters and its territory is dominated by four huge and fantastic mountains covered with glaciers: Ortles (3905 meters high), Monte Zebrù (3735 meters high), Gran Zebrù (3851 meters high), Cevedale (3769 meters high).

In the Solda area the nature is fantastic and unspoiled. This environment shows all the beauty, strength and harshness of the nature and if you want to observe this mighty scenery, you cannot miss a walk to Passo del Madriccio (3123 meters high) which connects Val Solda with Val Martello.

From Passo del Madriccio the landscape that can be observed is awesome. In front of you there are Gran Zebrù, Monte Zebrù, and Ortles with their huge glaciers and moraines left by the shrinkage of the ice and its friction on the rocks.

Observing this unbelievable nature, you can imagine how heavy the glaciers are and how powerful the corrosive action of their movement on rocks is.

In addition to the three big mountains above mentioned, from Passo del Madriccio it is also possible to observe Cima di Solda (3376 meters high), Corno di Solda (3388 meters high) and Punta Graglia (3391 meterss high).

An incredible site, which BBofItaly absolutely recommends to visit !
