La Gruba - Valle di Gressoney
La Gruba, an excellent restaurant in an amazing site! This restaurant is located in the hamlet of Gruba, a small group of old renovated houses in Val di Gressoney (also known as Valle del Lys) – in the Valle d’Aosta region.
The dining room is fantastic. It is a large glass room, from which you can observe the surrounding environment: mountains, forests, sky and, in winter, it seems like you are dining under the falling snow.
We started our dinner with a special red wine called Peque-na ! (Why not!). A typical blend of grapes from Valle d’Aosta.

Appetizers:
Focaccine di farro con speck agli aromi – Small emmer focaccias with aromatic speck
Sformatino con fonduta di Parmigiano Reggiano – Parmigiano Reggiano fondue flan
Trota salmonata valdostana con tortino salato – Valdostana salmon trout with savory pie
First course:
Strozzapreti di grano saraceno con ragù di agnello – Buckwheat strozzapreti with lamb ragù
Crespelle integrali con zucchine e formaggio di capra – Whole wheat crepes with courgettes and goat cheese
Second course:
Brasato al Donnas con patate al forno – Donnas braised with baked potatoes
Formaggi locali misti – mixed local cheeses
Dessert:
Struedel
Gelato con castagne – Ice cream with chestnuts
