Borgo delle Pietre

Don’t you believe Heaven exist? You are wrong! Maybe you believe it but you don’t know where it is. We can tell you!

It is located in Porto Empedocle district – Sicilia region, in a lonely area and it is known also as Borgo delle Pietre. When you drive along the road to reach this site, you think “Where am I going?” but you know roads that go to heaven are different and mysterious!

Borgo delle Pietre is a very old Masseria (a sort of local farm) completely refurbished with an incredible work and nowadays managed as resort. Instead of using so many words trying to describe the beauty of this building, we prefer to leave room to the pictures you can see here below.

Of course you can have your dinner at Borgo delle Pietre, where a lady chef prepares some incredible dishes with ancient recipes. Then let’s speak about wine, from a land – Sicilia – where the sun is particularly strong. So during our dinner we decided to taste a fantastic Nero d’Avola. This wine reminds you that you are in heaven!

Here below what we tasted for the joy of our palate.

Caponata – a specific local dish composed of aubergines, celery, tomatoes, olives and the typical sweet and sour sauce

Paccheri con gambero rosso e Ciliegino – Paccheri (a special kind of pasta) with red shrimps and Ciliegino (a kind of tomato)

Filetto di Branzino al rosmarino su crema di piselli e glassa di aceto balsamico – Sea bass fillet with rosemary on peas cream and balsamic vinegar glaze

And to conclude the unbelievable dinner two slices of cake, one of which is the famous Cassata Siciliana!
