Bocchetta del Cannone – Val Garzelli

Bocchetta del Cannone named also as Bocchetta di Ledù, is located in Val Garzelli at an altitude of 2273 meters. So not very high but in a severe and tough environment. This pass is characterized by a very narrow and bent crack in a harsh rocky terrain. The slope that goes to Bocchetta del Cannone is very steep and in its last part there is no path but only very big stones to be overcome. So who wants to conquer this target, must have a very good physical training also because the path is not only difficult but also very long. There are two trails that can be used to get Bocchetta del Cannone. One goes along Val Garzelli starting from Pra Pincee in Val Bodengo, the other goes along the watershed between Val Garzelli and Val Soe, starting from village of Bodengo in Val Bodengo. Val Garzelli is a gorgeous valley. Under its head characterized by very severe peaks, there is Alpe Campo where the view is fantastic and unbelievable (here some pictures can be seen with snow still present on peaks during first days of June). Close to Bocchetta del Cannone there is a beautiful little lake named Lago di Ledù and Bivacco Petazzi for who wants to have the experience to spend a night among stars.
