Medieval pass in the earth of Appennines

BBOI is pleased to propose this ancient and historic pass between two Italian regions in the earth of Italy : Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany.
This is a beautiful spot where to enjoy a super long and easy-going off road track with your adventure bike.

During the Middle Ages, the movements along the Appenines between north and south of Italy, were already numerous.
This pass was one of the most important roads in the past, and acted as a fundamental tool to connect people. Back into 749 some religious built up first shelter on the pass in order to accommodate merchants and pilgrims.

The actual road, even mirroring ancient route, is well maintained and lasting around 140 kilometers, allows adventurers to enjoy an amazing off road playground.
Despite to be workable for everyone, we do always suggest to keep with you an off road kit in order to always face as best as possible any issue may arise during off road sessions.
It’s also suggested to evaluate this beautiful destinations just having some experience and skills riding your bike where asphalt end.

The pass area is characterized by high-altitude heathland, it’s therefore not so difficult to meet few grazing pacific animals.
The landscape from the top offers a stunning 360° view. On the top of the pass, the highest peaks of the Tuscan-Emilian Appenines and Tuscany valleys are clearly visible; on the luckiest and sunniest days can be seen the beautiful Apuan Alps from a far.
